The third star system is live. Nyx brings Levski, the Glaciem asteroid belt, Vanduul hostiles, and interstellar hauling missions spanning three systems.

The third star system is live. Nyx brings Levski, the Glaciem asteroid belt, Vanduul hostiles, and interstellar hauling missions spanning three systems.

Patch Overview

Alpha 4.4 “Welcome to Nyx” went LIVE on November 19, 2025. This is the biggest content drop since Alpha 4.0’s Pyro launch — a third star system, hostile alien NPCs, and the infrastructure for true interstellar commerce.

Nyx System

Nyx is fundamentally different from both Stanton and Pyro:

Key Locations

LocationTypeDescription
DelamarAsteroid/PlanetoidHome to the independent settlement of Levski
LevskiLanding ZoneA massive underground settlement built by the People’s Alliance — fiercely independent
Glaciem BeltAsteroid RingDense asteroid field rich with mining resources and navigational hazards

The Vibe

If Stanton is corporate civilization and Pyro is lawless frontier, Nyx is revolutionary independence. Levski operates outside both UEE jurisdiction and pirate anarchy. It’s a haven for those who reject authority — and a hub for black market goods, information brokers, and political dissidents.

Vanduul NPCs

For the first time, Vanduul NPC pilots appear as hostile threats in the game. These alien fighters patrol areas near Nyx’s borders and will engage players on sight.

Vanduul encounters are significantly more dangerous than standard NPC combat:

  • Aggressive AI behavior — they pursue and coordinate
  • Strong weapons that can shred unprepared ships
  • No negotiation — Vanduul are kill-on-sight hostile

This is the first taste of the Vanduul threat that’s central to Star Citizen’s lore and Squadron 42’s storyline.

Interstellar Hauling Missions

New interstellar hauling missions span multiple star systems:

  • Pick up cargo in Stanton
  • Transit through Pyro
  • Deliver to Nyx (or vice versa)

These missions are longer, more dangerous, and more profitable than single-system routes. They reward planning, fuel management, and security coordination.

New Jump Points

Nyx connects to the existing systems via new jump point corridors:

  • Nyx ↔ Pyro — Direct connection through a new jump point
  • Nyx ↔ Stanton — Available via Pyro transit (no direct Nyx-Stanton jump yet)

This means Stanton-to-Nyx requires two jump point transits, making it a genuine long-haul route.

Additional Content

  • Exterior freight elevators for easier cargo loading at stations
  • Vanduul-Tech smuggler missions — acquire alien technology through black market contacts
  • “Sworn Enemies” operation — investigate abandoned stations with Vanduul connections
  • New character customization options
  • 180+ bug and crash fixes (31 from Issue Council)

CDYN Strategic Assessment

Three systems changes our org’s operating model:

Logistics: Interstellar hauling is our bread and butter. Multi-system supply chains need route planning, fuel depots, and convoy coordination. This is a massive opportunity.

Exploration: Nyx and the Glaciem Belt are uncharted territory for us. Scout teams should begin mapping resources and hazards immediately.

Security: Vanduul encounters require prepared combat pilots. This isn’t pirate NPCs — this is an existential threat. Train accordingly.

Mining: The Glaciem Belt presents new mining opportunities in an asteroid-rich environment. Coordinate with Security for escort in Vanduul-adjacent areas.

Welcome to Nyx, operators. The verse just got a lot bigger.
