Alpha 4.3.2 overhauls salvage with a new refining-to-salvage mechanic, brings new creatures to Pyro, and reflects Hurston's Race for Stanton victory.

Patch Overview

Alpha 4.3.2 “Fractured Frontiers” went LIVE on October 16, 2025. This patch focuses on salvage gameplay improvements, new environmental content, and the first visible consequences of the Race for Stanton player event.

Salvage Overhaul

Salvage has been reworked with a refining-to-salvage mechanic:

What Changed

  • Material extraction is now a multi-step process: strip hull materials, process them through refining, and sell refined goods
  • Salvage quality varies based on ship condition — freshly destroyed ships yield better materials than derelicts
  • Component salvage — individual ship components can now be extracted and sold or reused
  • Tool improvements — the Reclaimer’s salvage systems and handheld salvage tools received balance passes

Why It Matters

The previous salvage loop was… underwhelming. Strip a hull, sell the raw materials, repeat. The refining step adds depth and creates a meaningful pipeline:

  1. Find a wreck (or create one)
  2. Strip materials using salvage tools
  3. Refine materials at a station
  4. Sell refined goods for significantly better profit than raw materials

This pipeline rewards organization and logistics — exactly what our Salvaging and Logistics divisions are built for.

New Creature

Pyro’s wildlife roster expanded with a new creature encounter. Details are deliberately vague to avoid spoilers, but expect hostile fauna in cave systems and on certain planetary surfaces. Bring weapons.

Hurston Takes Pyro Gateway

The most notable narrative consequence: Hurston Dynamics now controls the Pyro Gateway station. This is the direct result of Hurston winning the Race for Stanton event.

Changes include:

  • Hurston branding and signage throughout the station
  • Hurston NPC security patrols
  • Modified vendor inventory reflecting Hurston’s military focus
  • New Hurston-aligned missions available at the station

This is a tangible example of player actions shaping the game world. The station you transit through to reach Pyro now belongs to the faction the community chose.

CDYN Division Impact

Salvaging: The overhaul makes salvage a viable primary gameplay loop. Our Salvaging division should organize refining pipeline operations — strip teams feeding materials to refinery operators.

Logistics: Refined salvage materials need transport. Coordinate with Salvaging for hauling contracts.

Security: Pyro Gateway under Hurston control means different security dynamics at the transit hub. Adjust expectations accordingly.

Fractured Frontiers delivers meaningful improvements to one of the game’s most underserved career paths. Good patch.
