Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2955 brought over 175 flyable ships, major new reveals including the RSI Perseus and Drake Clipper, and free fly access for everyone.

IAE 2955

The Intergalactic Aerospace Expo 2955 ran from November 20 through December 3, 2025, held at Orison on Crusader. This year’s IAE was the largest yet, featuring over 175 ships and vehicles available to fly during the free fly period.

New Ship Reveals

RSI Perseus

The RSI Perseus is a heavy gunship — a dedicated combat platform designed to take on capital-class threats:

  • Massive forward-facing firepower with size 7 weapons
  • Heavy turret coverage providing 360-degree defense
  • Designed to operate as a fleet’s primary anti-capital asset
  • Requires multi-crew to access full combat capability

The Perseus fills a gap between smaller combat ships and capital ships like the Hammerhead. It’s expensive, specialized, and devastating in its role.

RSI Salvation

The RSI Salvation is a single-seat salvage ship:

  • Compact, solo-friendly salvage platform
  • Efficient material extraction for independent operators
  • Lower overhead than the Reclaimer for small-scale salvage operations

For CDYN members who want to do salvage work without committing to a Reclaimer, the Salvation is an attractive option.

Drake Clipper

The Drake Clipper is a solo multi-role ship:

  • Drake’s signature industrial-utilitarian design
  • Versatile loadout options for combat, cargo, or exploration
  • Affordable entry point into multi-role gameplay
  • Solo-friendly operation

Think of it as Drake’s answer to the Avenger Titan, but with more versatility and Drake’s characteristic ruggedness.

Drake Golem OX

The Golem OX is a cargo hauling variant of the Golem:

  • Extended cargo capacity
  • Designed for bulk transport
  • Heavy armor for high-risk hauling routes

F8C Lightning

The F8C Lightning — previously only available through special packages — became pledgeable during IAE 2955. This military-grade heavy fighter is one of the most capable combat ships in the game.

Free Fly Event

As always, IAE included a free fly period allowing anyone to play Star Citizen at no cost. With 175+ ships available to test, this was the best opportunity to try before buying.

Funding Records

IAE 2955 pushed Star Citizen’s annual crowdfunding past $120 million for 2025, breaking the previous annual record of $117 million set in 2023. Total crowdfunding approached the $900 million milestone by the end of the event.

Twitch Drops

Twitch Drops were available throughout the expo, offering in-game items for watching Star Citizen streams. Free cosmetics, ship paints, and subscriber flair were all available.

CDYN Recommendations

Must-try ships during free fly:

  • RSI Perseus — if you’re interested in heavy combat
  • RSI Salvation — if salvage is your career path
  • Drake Clipper — if you need a versatile solo ship
  • Any ship you’ve been eyeing for purchase

Recruiting: Like Invictus, IAE free fly is prime recruitment time. Bring friends into the verse and introduce them to CDYN.

IAE 2955 delivered. The ship lineup keeps growing, and the free fly access ensures everyone can participate.
