Jump Point Navigation: A Pilot's Guide to Pyro Transit

Everything you need to know about navigating the Stanton-Pyro jump point corridor — from the mini-game mechanics to survival tips on the other side.

Everything you need to know about navigating the Stanton-Pyro jump point corridor — from the mini-game mechanics to survival tips on the other side.

What Are Jump Points?

Jump points are naturally occurring wormhole corridors that connect star systems. In Alpha 4.0, the first operational jump point links Stanton to Pyro — and navigating it is nothing like quantum travel.

When you approach the jump point entry (located between Stanton’s outer planets), you’ll see a swirling anomaly in space. Fly into it to begin the transit sequence.

The Navigation Mini-Game

Once inside the corridor, you’ll enter a first-person navigation experience. The wormhole is not a straight line — it twists, turns, and pulses with energy.

How It Works

  1. Stay centered. The corridor has visible boundaries. Stray too far toward the edges and your ship takes damage.
  2. Follow the flow. Energy pulses move through the corridor — match their direction and speed for the smoothest transit.
  3. Manage your throttle. Going too fast reduces your reaction time. Going too slow increases your exposure to turbulence.
  4. Watch your shields. Even a clean transit will tax your shields. Enter with full shield charge.

Ship Size Matters

Smaller ships have an easier time maneuvering through tight sections. Larger ships like the C2 Hercules or Caterpillar require more careful piloting — wide turns are your enemy.

Preparing for Pyro

Before you jump, make sure you’re ready for what’s on the other side:

  • Fuel up completely. Pyro’s refueling options are limited and often hostile.
  • Stock medical supplies. There are no reliable med stations in Pyro’s lawless zones.
  • Set your spawn. If you die in Pyro without a local spawn set, you’re waking up back in Stanton.
  • Travel with friends. Solo players are targets. CDYN members should coordinate convoy jumps on Discord.

Key Locations in Pyro

LocationTypeNotes
Ruin StationHubThe main station in Pyro. Rough crowd, but has basic services.
Pyro I - IVPlanetsVarious biomes, extreme temperatures, minimal infrastructure.
Pyro V & VIGas GiantsResource-rich but dangerous. Mining ops should proceed with security escort.

CDYN Recommendations

  • Always jump in groups of 2+ ships minimum
  • Designate a scout ship to transit first and report conditions
  • Logistics ships should wait for security escort before jumping
  • Report hostile encounters at the jump point exit to your division coordinator

The jump point is your gateway to Pyro’s opportunity — and its danger. Fly smart, fly together.
